Reliant Resources provides electricity and energy services to retail and wholesale customers marketing those services under the Reliant Energy brand. Our primary focus is on the competitive segments of the electric power industry, but we offer a broad range of energy and other products and services to meet our customers' needs. Our retail business serves more than 1.7 million electricity customers in Texas where the market place opened to retail electricity competition on January 1, 2002. As attractive retail markets develop in other regions of the U.S., we'll capitalize on the skills and systems we've built for the competitive retail market in Texas and on our wholesale expertise to develop enhanced products and services for retail customers outside of Texas.
